Diabetes Awareness Month: A chat with the College Diabetes Network
Today is the first day of National Diabetes Awareness Month, and to mark the occasion, we had a conversation with three college students, Hannah, Julie, and Natali, who started their own chapter of the College Diabetes Network at the College of New Jersey.
In their words, the College Diabetes Network is an organization that "empowers and strengthens students with diabetes in college and gives them all the resources they need to succeed." Watching this video, you can certainly see how difficult it is to live with diabetes in college — and how important it is to have a supportive community around you.
We asked the following questions, and the answers were enlightening :
- Can you tell us about the College Diabetes Network?
- What's it like to be a college student living with diabetes?
- What do you wish people knew about medical research and clinical trials?
- What are you most excited about in diabetes research right now?
- Where can people go to learn about clinical trial opportunities?
